Gift Processing

The University has formalized its Gift Processing Policy. A copy of the actual Policy is available electronically at http://www.accounting.cornell.edu/receiving_gifts.cfm. The information is provided to ensure that gifts:

1. Enhance the reputation and standing of the University;
2. Do not compromise its educational purpose; and
3. Are properly accepted and acknowledged in a timely fashion.

If specific questions arise about this process or you are the recipient of any gift, be it cash, a check or a gift in kind, contact the Development Office, 130 East Seneca Street, Suite 400. Do not deposit a gift into a particular account even if you are confident you know the appropriate Departmental Account Number to credit. All gifts, regardless of the amount or purpose, should be routed to Cornell University's Office of Public Affairs via the Development Office.
