Documentation for Employment Eligibility If you are seeking employment at the Johnson School, Cornell or anywhere in the U.S., you will need to validate your employment eligibility. Legislation requires all employers to request and examine documentation of identity and employment eligibility of all new hires. Employment eligibility may be proven with one document from List A (documents that establish both identity and employment eligibility) OR one document from List B (documents that establish identity) AND one from List C (documents that establish employment eligibility).
If you are a non-U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, you will need to have a valid Visa and work authorization prior to beginning employment. The Human Resources Office urges you to contact the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO), B50 Caldwell Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853 or (607) 255-5243 immediately upon or prior to your arrival on campus. ISSO can assist you with the eligibility requirements. Last Modified: April 30, 2008 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
