Social Security Cards

The following steps are required to obtain a Social Security Card:

Social Security Cards can be obtained at the Social Security Administration Office, 171 East State Street, Ithaca, NY, (800) 772-1213 or (607) 256-3651.
The Social Security Administration is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Two forms of identification are necessary. A driver's license and school identification are examples of acceptable identification.
You will be asked to fill out a form when you make your request and then you will be issued a receipt once you have completed the form. This receipt can be used to complete the I-9 until the card arrives.
You will need to bring your card to the Administrative Service Center, 235 Sage Hall, upon receipt of it.
