Extramural
Courses All regular, full- or part-time employees may enroll in on-campus courses for credit or audit on a space available basis with the permission of the Manager, the Dean and the Instructor, through the Extramural Courses Office. For example, a full-time employee may take any class at Cornell with the exception of Physical Education and can be eligible for up to four (4) credits per semester of free tuition under the Extramural Program. For more information, visit http://www.ohr.cornell.edu/benefits/educational/extramural.html. An employee is required to make up the time missed from work unless the course is "job related." To ensure equity among employees, excluding Employee Degree Candidates, all employees will be required to make up their time unless the course taken is clearly visible as being job related. If you, as a manager, think the course is job related, a memo should be submitted to the Dean indicating how this determination was made. Such requests will be reviewed on an ad hoc basis.
