Working Commencement Volunteering to Work for the University Commencement Ceremony All nonexempt staff who volunteer to usher during the University Commencement Ceremony will be granted complimentary time off equivalent to their standard work day. Time spent at the Commencement orientation meeting should be entered as regular time worked in COLTS II. The complimentary time off should be scheduled as not to disrupt normal work activities and must be approved by the volunteer's immediate Supervisor. The complimentary time off must be used by the end of the calendar year - December 31. In COLTS II, when the employee uses the complimentary time, it should be entered using the Leave Tab with the earning code "Paid Leave."
