Managerial Finance
The Managerial Finace career path is for those indivuals who aspire to be future corporate leaders - CEOs, CFOs, CROs, CTOs, MDs, and VPs. Most large corporations hire MBAs for their finance departments. This job function can vary widely - some work in investor relations, others support strategy groups, some work in internal mergers and acquisitions departments while still others work in treasury functions. Many companies offer rotational leadership programs which expose the MBAs to these finance functions within a short time span (typically 10 weeks for summer interns and 2-year programs for full time hires). Although major banks like Citigroup and JP Morgan offer excellent managerial finance rotational programs, various Fortune 500 companies in industries such as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, and energy also offer promising career opportunities.
