Mission Statement
Our mission is to create pathways to leadership for our members through education, opportunity and networking.
Purpose
The Latino
population is now the largest
ethnic minority group in the United States. This
explosive growth has generated buzz about how this demographic
shift will impact the future of business, the workplace, politics,
education
and our communities. These
developments
prompted the founding of HABLA to generate awareness and create
dialogue about
the need to develop leaders that understand our unique experience as
Americans
of Hispanic descent.
Objectives
Education
- Educate the Johnson School community about the significant impact on business resulting from Latinos becoming the largest ethnic minority in the U.S.
- Highlight the
diversity within the Latino
demographic and its implications for doing business in the U.S.

educational & career resources for Latino students and members

- Build
relationships with corporations committed to recruiting Latino MBAs
Recruitment
- Attract
more Latino prospective students to the Johnson School MBA program
- Conduct proactive recruiting efforts with Admissions & the Office of Women & Minorities in Business
Initiatives

- Host Annual National Johnson School Hispanic Case Competition, only one of its kind.
- Coordinate Hispanic Heritage Month Event
- Provide Career Management Mentoring / How to survive in Corporate America Workshops
Networking and Social
- Host Johnson School Hispanic-American Alumni Event in New York City
- Attend National Society of Hispanic MBA(NSHMBA) Conference
- Co-host Puerto Rican diversity event
