Case Competition History
The Johnson School's Hispanic-American Business Leaders Association (HABLA) hosted the first official Hispanic Case Competition in 2004. The event featured lectures from Jennifer Williams, VP Hispanic Marketing at Citigroup, and Jose Baldan, Assistant Brand Manager at P&G. Some of the participating B-schools were Simon, Wharton, Stern, Columbia, Yale and the Johnson School, all top MBA programs in the U.S. The competition was sponsored by The San Jose Group, P&G, Citigroup and Unilever. Since then, HABLA has annually hosted this event, generating great support from corporate sponsors and a continuous interest from the top MBA programs. The opportunity to network with corporate sponsors and students from other schools, and the sharing of experiences and interests in the Hispanic culture, has made this event a great success year after year. The contents and discussion points featured in the HABLA case competitions remain well-aligned with the significant growth trend of the Hispanic-American market and its buying power, which is becoming a hot issue in many American corporations today.
