The Johnson School has an active partnered organization for students and their significant others, both for career seekers as well as families. Joint Ventures' mission is to foster ties of friendship and personal growth among Johnson School students, their partners, their families, and the greater Cornell and Ithaca communities.
Members share information on jobs, health care, day care, entertainment and student schedules while forming new friendships. Joint Ventures also sponsors a variety of regular activities designed to help members get to know each other and the Ithaca area.
Many Joint Ventures members work in Ithaca or surrounding areas and can serve as contacts in conducting a job search. Although relocating poses challenges, Ithaca does offer positions in many spouses' fields of interest. In addition, volunteer opportunities abound both on campus and in the community.
Joint Ventures also offers a support network for members with children. More than 40 percent of members have at least one child and share in family-oriented activities.
