The Johnson School has an active partner organization for students and their significant others. Joint Ventures' mission is to foster ties of friendship and personal growth among Johnson School students, their partners, their families, and the greater Cornell and Ithaca communities.
Joint Ventures sponsors a variety of regular activities designed to help members get to know each other and the Ithaca area. Members share information on jobs, health care, day care, entertainment, and student schedules while forming new friendships.
Many Joint Ventures members work in Ithaca or surrounding areas and can serve as contacts in conducting a job search. Although relocating poses challenges, most spouses are able to find employment if they choose. In addition, volunteer opportunities abound both on campus and in the community.
Joint Ventures also offers a support network for members with children through its active playgroups and family-oriented activities.
